Summary:
The Enterprise Strategy Consultant is an essential role for the establishment and progression of internal strategic consultancy capabilities for the Corporate Strategy team at Huntington Bank.
The Corporate Strategy team is responsible for providing strategic and business planning leadership and support across business lines. Overall, this role will manage and support strategic engagements targeting growth opportunities for Huntington Bank and will work in cooperation with business segment representatives, key support function resources, and other members of the Strategy and Finance team to execute their responsibilities. In addition, the Enterprise Strategy Consultant will also operate and interact with all levels of the organization, including the bank's Executive Leadership Team (ELT), requiring senior presence and expert communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing and supporting strategic engagements with Huntington's business segments
• Formulates and identifies strategic questions related to opportunities for evaluation, analysis, and contemplation in partnership with business resources
• Performs research and market / competitive analysis when forming recommendations including performing external scans to determine strengths, opportunities, opportunities, and threats
• Evaluates options for consideration
• Partners with Finance to complete financial modeling
• Engages key support partners in the development of required strategic components (including Marketing, Technology, Digital, Risk, etc.)
• Supports development of business goals and targets (including Key Performance Indicators) to evaluate progress
• Support identification, prioritization, and management of key strategic opportunities within the businesses
• Supports the assessment, strategy development and planning associated with new capabilities, new business initiatives, and other strategic efforts, partnering with business segment management and other resources as necessary (e.g. new market exploration, enhancing capabilities, segment strategies, etc.)
• Supports and participates in the development of strategic presentations to senior management, working cross-functionally to determine and develop appropriate content, messaging, and presentation
• Supports development of presentations / materials for the Board of Directors and the bank's regulators
• Works with strategic market analysis function to perform required analysis efforts related to strategic assessment work
• Supports and performs administrative duties associated with the Corporate Strategy office function
• Follows and maintains deliverable standards set by the department
• Ensures adherence / conformance to the Strategic Planning policy
• Contributes to the design, maintenance, and monitoring of the Corporates Strategy office's tools including email box, SharePoint site, and Teams channel (and others as developed)
• Completes required reporting including initiative and KPI status reporting
• Supports and actively participates in annual strategic planning process and activities
• Manages assigned deliverables and activities
• Supports business units and functions throughout the process
• Completes required documentation and presentation work in collaboration with department head and others, as required
• Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience including a successful track record of developing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, competitive analysis, and business planning
• Direct experience in consulting or financial services strategy is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and complex strategic analysis projects
