Stores Assistant (Project Site)
Job Description
Preferred candidates from Real Estate Construction Industry
Role Purpose:
The Stores Assistant will be responsible for supporting the management of construction materials at the project site, ensuring proper receipt, storage, issue, record-keeping, and stock control to facilitate smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Receipt & Verification
• Receive construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, MEP items, finishing materials, etc.) at site.
• Verify quantity and specifications against purchase orders and delivery challans.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and approval.
• Maintain Goods Receipt Note (GRN) records.
2. Inventory Management
• Maintain proper stock registers (manual / ERP-based).
• Ensure safe storage and proper stacking of materials to prevent damage and wastage.
• Monitor stock levels and inform Store In-Charge for reorder requirements.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
3. Material Issue Control
• Issue materials to contractors / site engineers against authorized material requisition slips.
• Maintain proper documentation for material movement.
• Track consumption and avoid excess issuance or wastage.
4. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain inward and outward registers.
• Update daily stock reports and submit to reporting manager.
• Support preparation of monthly inventory reports.
• Maintain proper filing of purchase orders, GRNs, invoices, and issue slips.
5. Site Coordination
• Coordinate with Planning, QA/QC, and Site Engineers for material availability.
• Support reconciliation of major materials like cement and steel.
• Assist in material audit and internal stock checks.
6. Safety & Housekeeping
• Ensure proper storage conditions for materials (covered storage for cement, protected storage for electrical items, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of store area.
• Follow safety guidelines for material handling.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and site store operations.
• Familiarity with stock registers and ERP systems (if applicable).
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Attention to detail and accountability.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, email).
Preferred Profile
• Experience in residential or high-rise construction projects preferred.
• Experience in handling cement & steel stock reconciliation is an added advantage.
• Willingness to work at project site location.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
