About the Role
Lead the coordination of care within Wahanga Piripoho Neonatal Unit at Tauranga Hospital. As Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will oversee the daily flow of the unit, support nursing staff, and ensure safe, evidence-based practice across all shifts.
The Neonatal Unit is a Level 2 service with 12 cots, delivering high dependency care including CPAP, High Flow, TPN, and stabilisation of infants requiring transfer to tertiary NICU services. This role works closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager and the multidisciplinary team to maintain clinical standards, patient safety, and operational efficiency.

Wahanga Piripoho Neonatal Unit provides specialised care for pÄpi and whÄnau across the Bay of Plenty. The team is skilled, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality neonatal care in a supportive environment. Based at Tauranga Hospital, the service combines the pace and complexity of secondary care with the lifestyle benefits of coastal living.

About You
You will be an experienced neonatal nurse with strong clinical credibility and a natural ability to lead. Calm under pressure, you bring sound judgement, clear communication, and a focus on safe, family centred care. Leadership, organisation, and the ability to support and guide colleagues are central to your practice.
What you will bring:
Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
Significant neonatal nursing experience within a Level 2 or higher service
Demonstrated leadership or coordination experience in a clinical setting
Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
Postgraduate nursing qualification completed or working towards
