Salary Range: $80,637 – $120,955 per annum, dependent on qualifications, experience and skills

About the Role

The Data Quality Analyst is a member of the National Collections Team, who have the collective responsibility for running the National Data Collections and supporting Te Whatu Ora priorities.

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data used for reporting within our organisation. Your responsibilities will be multifaceted, ranging from assessing data quality and testing releases, monitoring quality metrics, conducting root cause analysis, and driving process improvements. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our data assets, ensuring that they are not only accurate but also reliable for decision-making and strategic planning.

You will bring:

A relevant graduate qualification (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
Strong programming capability in tools such as R, SQL, Python or similar, with the ability to extract, manipulate and analyse large, complex datasets
Experience working with cloud and/or on-premises data environments
Sound knowledge of data quality techniques
Confidence identifying data quality issues and clearly communicating findings to stakeholders
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
Ideally, you will also have:

Experience working with health data
Understanding of health purchasing frameworks, including purchase units and outpatient/ED reporting frameworks
Familiarity with classification systems such as ICD-10-AM and SNOMED CT
Experience testing system changes or software releases
The ability to track, manage and report on issue resolution
Knowledge of the Health Information Privacy Code and the Privacy Act
