About the role - Korero mo te turanga

As a Financial Administrator, you will be part of the team responsible for all financial transactions and processes relating to accounts receivable, accounts payable, debt management and debt collection, banking, receipting, dealing with customer enquiries in an accurate and timely manner, and customer account reconciliations.

About You - Mou

The ideal candidate will have previous extensive experience in Accounts Receivable or Payable.

You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel and ideally be a skilled user of Finance One (also known as Technology One).

You need to be proactive and a strong team player willing to support others. Your customer service skills will be second to none allowing you to communicate and negotiate clearly with customers. Due to the nature of the work attention to detail is key, so we need you to have a keen eye.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Solid working knowledge of accounting principles including financial reconciliations, accounts receivable processes and practices
Experience delivering accurate and timely financial operations (Accounts Receivable/Payable)
Experience in Debt Collection and customer accounts management (desirable)
Strong numerical skills with an eye for detail
Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines
Proven negotiation skills and confidence dealing with customers
Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality and privacy
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
A reputation as a reliable and collaborative team player who delivers on commitments
Positive, flexible, solution-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement

About the team - Mo to matou Ropu

The Finance Administration team sits within the Finance Systems and Processing area of Finance, Property and Procurement.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Accounts Receivables you will be part of a team of five that manages the accounts receivables, banking, debt collection, and customer management functions on behalf of the Ministry.
