What you will be doing
As an Intermediate .NET Developer, you will design, build, support, and enhance software solutions that underpin Public Sector critical systems. Working within DXCâs delivery teams, you will apply modern .NET practices, and responsible use of Generative AI tools to improve development efficiency, system support, and service reliability.
This role has a strong emphasis on application and system support, ensuring solutions remain secure, reliable, and fit for purpose in a regulated environment.
What will keep you busy
Develop and maintain applications using C#, modern .NET (.NET 6+)
Support live systems, including defect resolution, minor enhancements, and performance fixes
Build and consume RESTful APIs aligned to DXC EDGE patterns
Ensure changes are safe, wellâtested, and productionâready
Use approved Generative AI tools to assist with:
Code comprehension and refactoring
Test case generation and documentation
Log analysis and issue triage
Apply judgement to validate AIâgenerated outputs before use
Follow DXC and customer policies on data privacy, security, and AI governance
Write unit tests and support automated testing
Follow secure coding and public sector compliance standards
Participate in code reviews with a focus on stability and operability
Use CI/CD pipelines for builds and deployments
Support monitoring, logging, and incident resolution activities
Work with operational teams to ensure smooth BAU support
Work closely with Senior Developers, Technical Leads, and support teams
Participate in agile ceremonies and service reviews
Communicate progress, risks, and production issues clearly

Understanding of secure and reliable system design
Gitâbased source control experience
Relational database knowledge (e.g. SQL Server)
Agile delivery experience

Exposure to Azure or cloud hosting
Familiarity with Generative AI tools in development or support contexts
Understanding of ITILâaligned support models
