As a Staff Accountant – Outbound Royalties, you will play a pivotal role in managing the royalty accounting processes for assigned brands. This role will assist in contract analysis, royalty reporting, reconciliations, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
Review and interpret licensing agreements to ensure accurate royalty calculations and compliance with contract terms.
Prepare and maintain schedules for minimum guarantee payments, tracking obligations and ensuring timely execution.
Analyze and validate royalty reports submitted by licensees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
Generate and distribute monthly royalty reports for internal stakeholders and licensees, providing clear and actionable insights.
Perform monthly reconciliations of royalty-related accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring financial accuracy.
Act as a key point of contact, communicating effectively with licensees and the internal licensing team to address inquiries, discrepancies, or updates.
Leverage Sage X3 accounting software to manage royalty data, process transactions, and generate financial reports.
Identify opportunities to streamline royalty accounting processes and enhance efficiency within the department.
Perform other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field or a commensurate mix of experience and education.
2+ years of experience in royalty accounting, contract analysis, or a similar financial role (experience in the toy, entertainment, or licensing industry is a plus)
CPA License a plus
Experience in ASC606 CP licensing revenue recognition is a plus
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas, pivot tables, and large datasets.
Knowledge of licensing agreements and royalty structures is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Sage X3 accounting software is required.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and present financial data.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles ASC 606, and experience working with licensing agreements
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Multi-lingual is a plus

Schedule: Typically requires regular office hours, however, may require calls with business counterparts outside of regular office hours
