Job Summary

The housekeeping Supervisor manages the performance of housekeeping staff and ensures that the facility is clean and sanitized for all.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
Establishes the scheduled and plans daily work assignments.
Trains and coaches employees in laundry, housekeeping and dry cleaning.
Manages customer housekeeping problems.
Inspects and approved staff work performance.
Demonstrates leadership and training to staff.
Communicates effectively with staff.
Meets goals of production.
Develops and trains staff on policy.
Orders cleaning materials and maintains budget.
Ensures that there is an up to date MSDS Manual for the department and that all staff have been educated to the location of this manual and how to read the MSDS sheets.
Interview and hire applicants for available positions in the housekeeping and laundry departments.
Performs administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, weekly reports, etc.
Administer employee disciplinary action as necessary with the guidance of the Administrator, and terminate the employment of personnel as necessary, documenting and coordinating such actions with the Administrator.
Inspect storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control.
Meet with housekeeping personnel on a monthly basis and as needed concerning in-service and daily operation of the housekeeping department; assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
Buff the floors weekly.
Clean the front lobby area, including floors, all offices, bathrooms, and conference room.
Assist in scheduling stripping/waxing and assist in performing these duties as necessary.
Ensure that all housekeeping personnel have participated in Hazardous Commination/OSHA training and are performing their duties within these regulations.
Maintain the appearance of the facility at all times.

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental an emotional stress of the position.
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with the resident, personnel and support agencies.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
Other Requirements
May be required to attend activities outside the facility to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
May be required to work holidays
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
