Enrichment Program Manager

  • Category: Event Management Jobs
  • Location: Griffith, Australian Capital Territory
  • Job Type: Full Time / Part Time
  • Salary: Estimated: $ 21K to 33K
  • Published on: 2025/09/16

LOCATION: Griffith, Canberra, with option to work from home.

Perform Australia, one of Australia’s leading drama schools, is seeking a talented, management-oriented individual with an understanding of theatre and screen, to lead our Enrichment Programs into the future.

Our enrichment programs take place largely in Canberra and Brisbane and include:

After-school acting programs
Musical theatre production programs for children
Short courses and workshops for adults
Private tuition in singing and acting
Corporate training programs
Your role is to work alongside the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure the delivery of quality leisure programs and to ensure good student retention throughout the year.

You need to:

Know a good script from a bad one
Know what children need in a drama program to have a wonderful time
Know what adults are looking for in a creative course experience
Know about acting technique
Know how a theatre show is put together, and be able to judge what needs to be done to advise staff to improve a production.
You must also have strengths in:

Problem solving
Planning, coordinating and delegating
Strategic thinking
Mentoring staff
Innovating.
Apart from training staff, this is not a job where you have to teach or direct on a regular basis, unless you want to take on a project or teaching hours - though you may be required to step in as a substitute teacher from time to time. Nevertheless, you’ll be empowering others to do this work, while lending your artistic eye where it’s needed. In this job, you need to wear a producer’s hat and make things happen.

Moreover, we’re an acting school – so we take that lens to everything we do. We are not a dance school. We are not a music school. To fit in with our approach to the work, you need to understand and grab this premise, and run with it.

The role’s three intentions are:

INTENTION 1: ENCHANTING EXPERIENCES

Developing programs which bring joy to children and adults through participation in performing arts – so that they learn new skills and want to stay on for years. You will therefore:

Devise new workshop programs for adults in acting, musical theatre, and related fields, and recruit skilled trainers
Work with our curriculum writer to develop a year-round actor training program for children across different age groups
Source and/or commission scripts for performance in children’s programs
Oversee children’s musical theatre programs and work with the production manager to ensure beautiful productions take place
Manage our annual ‘Performathon’ festival of plays
Liaise with filmmakers when producing screen content in classes.
INTENTION 2: LOGISTICAL MAGNIFICENCE

Inventing and managing systems to ensure the smooth running of enrichment programs from top to bottom. You will:

Work with admin staff to ensure secure locations for activities, whether hired or in our own studios
Manage child safety requirements to ensure Perform Australia is a child-safe organisation across the three states in which it exists
Develop processes for managing staff training, absences, and recruitment
Update training manuals and procedures for staff as needed
Work with admin on the smooth delivery of the customer experience.
Solve problems with customers
INTENTION 3: ENCOURAGING ARTISTS

Recruiting, training and managing a staff of teaching artists, to ensure they are well-suited and well-equipped to do what they’re tasked to do. You will:

Oversee recruitment, onboarding and induction of new staff across leisure programs
Monitor wellbeing of staff
Identify staff training and professional development needs
Conduct performance reviews and classroom reviews
Assist staff with behavioural management issues in classes
HOURS
This position is 25 hours per week and is available at our studio in Griffith or as a work-from-home role. Attendance at productions and events is required.

If you’re getting excited just thinking about this… apply now! – we’re keen to hear from you. Please direct your CV and a letter explaining why you feel you are a good match for the position.
