About the Role

As an Entry Level Eligibility Officer, you’ll provide a cost effective, professional and customer focused workers compensation claims experience through the early stages of a claim. In this newly created entry level Eligibility role, you’ll support our Eligibility function in the determination of newly received workers compensation claims by processing new and non-complex claims, providing an opportunity for you to build your knowledge and expertise with a view to progress to more senior opportunities in time.

You will be coached/mentored along the way by a dedicated Eligibility training specialist which will provide you with the skillset required to register claims whilst also being responsible for making initial liability decisions within legislated timeframes for our stakeholders. Your role will be to collect information, make an accurate and fair assessment of the medical and circumstantial information pertinent to the claims being lodged and making a decision as to whether or not the claims can be accepted in accordance with legislation.

This position is ideal for individuals either looking to transition into an Eligibility position from within the broader Workers Compensation and personal injury industries, or bring their transferrable skillsets from previous experiences to the workers compensation field in an Eligibility focused role.


How you'll make an impact

Your responsibilities will include:
Participating in a dedicated 6 month Eligibility training program overseen by an experienced training specialist to have you best placed to transition into a senior Eligibility role at the conclusion of this program
Ensuring all customers receive the support and guidance they require for injured workers to recover and make a safe and sustainable return to work through the effective management of the eligibility process
Accurately identifying different claim types, and registering new claims within specified time frames, undertaking phone contacts where required
Identifying and registering new claims, and making contacts with all parties to resolve these in a timely manner
Monitoring new claims email inboxes and the claims registration queue
Actively participating in robust training which will provide you with the skills required to register claims and determine liability on all types of decisions
Making eligibility decisions based on information and evidence obtained
Ensuring all initial liability (eligibility) decisions are made in accordance with legislated timeframes


About you

What are we looking for?
Ability to work within set deadlines and timeframes
Acute attention to detail, and ability to understand and apply legislation
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high level of customer service experience
Adaptability and resilience
Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or Industry Specific qualifications will be ideal, however not essential to your success
