Job Overview
We are seeking motivated, hands-on individuals to join our Youth Employment Social Services (YESS) Program. This is a job-connected training opportunity that includes 16 weeks of fully funded support designed to help you gain real-world skills and connect with local employers across a variety of sectors such as construction, service, warehousing, and technical trades.
You’ll receive wraparound support, employment training, and worksite readiness to prepare you for success in the job market—no previous experience required.
This opportunity is ideal for youth who are eager to gain work experience, explore career paths, and build confidence in the workplace.
Responsibilities
Attend job-readiness training and hands-on workshops
Learn and apply essential workplace habits (e.g., punctuality, safety, communication)
Participate in group-based projects and skills-building sessions
Explore different industries and work environments
Engage in employment preparation, resume writing, and interview practice
Attend scheduled training sessions (in-person and online)
Connect with employers during networking and work placement opportunities
Demonstrate commitment, teamwork, and a willingness to learn
Qualifications
Interest in starting a new career or gaining meaningful work experience
Willingness to participate in training and team-based learning
Good attitude and openness to new experiences
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic
Comfort using or learning to use tools, materials, or basic equipment
Clear communication and ability to engage in group discussions
Physical ability to participate in hands-on activities if required
