We are seeking a motivated, results-driven professional who aligns with our firm's core values of Effectiveness, Tenacity, and Synergy to join our team as a Business Development & Event Specialist. This part-time role (30 hours/week) is central to expanding our reach to the community, professionals (CPAs, Accountants, and CFOs) through well-organized events and partnerships. This role focuses on developing long term and meaningful engagement with CPAs and the business community (business owners). The ideal candidate will GWC—"get it, want it, and have the capacity" to excel in this position.

Responsibilities
• Event Planner
• Plan and execute impactful events, including the Fearless Scholarship Program and CPA & Business Owner Lunch and Learn sessions.
• Develop event strategies with attention to detail, ensuring every detail supports our mission of providing extraordinary results.
• Maintain seamless communication and coordination with vendors, sponsors, and partners.
• Build and maintain a strong network of professionals, such as CPAs, bankers, and community leaders, to ensure high-quality attendees at our events. Our firm typically hosts 1 small event per month and a larger event twice a year.
• Cultivate sponsorships and partnerships that fund and enhance our scholarship program and educational events.
• Work with social media manager to create social media content to build excitement around events.
• Community Outreach - Build Referral Network
• Networking: attend professional networking events with CPAs and business owners to build lasting relationships focusing on mutual growth and trust.
• Maintain high visibility in the community and represent our brand through advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
• Use outbound sales experience to build and maintain referral networks and engage potential partners.
• Approach all sales interactions with the tenacity to build authentic connections to bring real value to each professional relationship.
• Be proactive and driven to create opportunities.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated success in outbound sales and business development, with a strong track record of building referral partnerships from the ground up and driving leads.
• Must have experience in cold calling with confidence and persistence, along with a proven track record of successfully securing in-person meetings with decision-makers, ensuring commitments are kept and follow-through is achieved.
• Ability to overcome objections from referral partners and sponsors with persuasion and persistence.
• Must have strong negotiation skills, confidently securing the best prices and ensuring timely, accurate deliveries by vendors. This role requires a professional who is both assertive and respectful, able to handle vendor challenges tactfully, with unwavering follow-through, attention to detail, and the persistence needed to keep all projects on track and vendors accountable.
• Experience in event organization and guest management, with a focus on securing the minimum required attendance through proactive follow-up and consistent tracking in guest confirmations in our CRM. Must be relentless in communication efforts to confirm attendance and addressing low RSVP rates to ensure minimum attendance for each event.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to create meaningful relationships with clients and partners.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and committed to uncovering the best strategies for each event and partnership.
• Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by achieving measurable results.
• Must be adaptable and eager to learn, quickly grasping our industry and services to effectively communicate with clients, partners, vendors, and sponsors.
• Must be a collaborative team player who thrives on brainstorming and problem-solving, confidently raising challenges or potential roadblocks that arise to ensure the project’s success while contributing to team success.

Must excel at managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent communication with new and existing contacts to nurture strong and lasting relationships.
