Job Summary:

A premier winery estate owned by NASCAR team owner and Hall of Fame member Richard Childress, located in Lexington, NC is seeking an Events Sales Manager. The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales of events, including corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, and private parties. This role involves working closely with clients to develop tailored event packages, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Lead Generation
• Actively seek new business opportunities and grow event sales through outbound calls, networking, and responding to inquiries.
• Manage and convert inbound leads, guiding prospective clients through the sales process.
• Prepare and present customized event proposals to clients based on their specific requirements.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and event details with clients to ensure profitability while meeting their needs.

Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering personalized service to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Conduct venue tours and meetings with prospective clients to showcase event spaces, services, and amenities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients before and after the event to address any questions or concerns.

Event Coordination
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Catering, Tasting Room, Bistro) to ensure all aspects of an event can be executed properly.
• Maintain communication with the Catering Chef on behalf of clients to secure event menus, food orders, service style, and catering supplies.
• Update and maintain event calendars in both Tripleseat and Google.

Target Achievement & Reporting
• Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set for events and services.
• Track sales performance, prepare regular reports on sales activities, and analyze trends to adjust strategies as needed.
• Monitor the profitability of each event to ensure that it meets budget expectations and company standards.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to maintain a competitive edge in pricing and services.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

Marketing Collaboration
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns targeted at attracting new event clients.
• Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and other industry-related functions to promote event offerings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years in event sales, hospitality, or a similar client-facing role.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in event planning or related industries.
• Strong experience in negotiating contracts and managing high-value sales.

Skills:
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Proficiency with event management software, Tripleseat, All Seated, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Working Conditions:
• This role may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on event schedules.
• Some travel may be required for client meetings, site visits, or trade shows.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift 35+ pounds on a daily basis
• Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend, and stoop

Compensation:
• Base salary plus performance-based incentives or commission. Pay rate will be based on experience.
