The Opportunity
As the Events & Activations Manager, you'll lead the strategy, development and execution of high-impact experiential events and brand activations across our venues. This hands-on role will focus on flagship activations for both established venues within our portfolio in addition to a number of high profile, recently acquired venues. This role will expand to include activations across key Redcape venues, including the Beach Hotel Byron Bay, Hotel Brunswick, Kinselas and The Prince Consort Hotel in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
You’ll also be responsible for curating an annual calendar of events that tap into cultural moments, major sporting events and key trading opportunities, all aimed at driving customer engagement, foot traffic and dwell time. With a strong operational focus, you’ll craft and deliver marketable experiences that make our venues the go-to destinations in their communities, driving financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Experiential Marketing & Activations Strategy
Develop and implement immersive in-venue experiences and brand activations that engage customers and increase venue footfall.
Annual Events & Activations Calendar
Manage and own a comprehensive events calendar for selected strategic venues, aligning activities with cultural events, sporting fixtures and key trading moments. Collaborate with the Redcape Venue Support Operations and Marketing teams to replicate similar events across our 30+ community pubs (where appropriate).
Brand & Partner Collaborations
Build and nurture relationships with commercial partners (e.g. CUB, Moshtix) and identify new opportunities to enhance activations and marketing efforts.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work alongside Venue Managers, Operations, Food & Beverage and Marketing teams to align events with business goals, ensuring seamless execution and operational efficiency.
Event Execution & Logistics
Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of in-venue events, ensuring each event runs smoothly and meets customer and business expectations. Support activations at other venues as required.
Customer Experience & Engagement
Design interactive, engaging customer experiences and gather insights for continuous improvement. Work with Marketing to execute campaigns that drive awareness and track the success of events, measured through financial performance and KPIs.
Performance & Budget Management
Oversee event budgets and track key performance metrics, ensuring each event delivers maximum return on investment (ROI).
What We’re Looking For
Experience
3+ years of experience in hospitality or in-venue operations, with a focus on event management, marketing, or experiential activations. (Experience in hospitality, retail, or agency preferred)
Creative & Strategic Thinking
Ability to develop innovative, engaging customer experiences and activation campaigns.
Event Management Expertise
Proven success in planning and executing high-impact events that are customer-focused and operationally sound.
Partnership Development
Experience in building and managing strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Analytical Skills
Strong ability to measure, optimize, and report on event performance.
Project Management
Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
Digitally Savvy
Understanding of digital marketing trends and the ability to apply them to event campaigns.
