Position Overview:

We are looking for qualified End of Life Doulas and experienced educators to join our faculty. We are currently looking for instructors for our program which includes the following courses:
Personal End-of-Life Planning and Self Care (7 weeks, 42 hours)
The Reality of Death and Dying (6 Weeks, 36 hours)
End-of-Life Guidance (6 Weeks, 36 hours)
Mentorship and Supervised Practice (5 weeks, 15 hours)
Courses are taught on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - +:00pm PST. Courses in our online program are taught synchronously online via Zoom.
Suitable candidates will have experience teaching online using an experiential learning approach and will have a Certificate or Diploma as a Death Doula or equivalent experience. All course materials are provided - no curriculum development is required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate engaging, interactive and effective lessons synchronously online using Zoom.
2. Meet course learning objectives and integrate course readings and course evaluation, the student course notes package to prepare students for the final evaluation and written exam; this will require the instructor to create daily lesson plans with lectures, instructor demonstrations, student demonstrations, skill practices individual & group class presentations, and discussion of assigned readings, all with an emphasis on experiential exercises.
3. Grade all student assignments and the written exam.
4. Submit all marks and final grades within two weeks from the end of the course.
5. Provide administration with an invoice for services provided.
6. Comply with Rhodes Wellness College's policies and guidelines.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
Certificate or Diploma as a certified Death Doula or equivalent experience is required.
Industry standard training and experience: minimum two years of experience in field of study combined with accepted certification or diploma.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with experiential learning.
Experience teaching online education to adult learners; Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
Reliable internet connection to support teaching online via Zoom.
