Job Description

The Department of Psychology is seeking Contract Academic Staff to teach the following course at Brandon University for the 2026 – 2026 academic year. This course may be delivered in an online synchronous format, but preference will be given to qualified candidates who will teach in-person.

Qualifications:

A PhD in Psychology is preferred; Masters’ Degree in Psychology is required. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee at the address below on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.
Applicants must have successful teaching experience and relevant expertise in the specified area.
Knowledge and experience with Instructional Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, D2L) would be an asset.

Salary: $7857.00 per 3 credit hour course

82:160 Introduction to Psychology, Section A04, 3 credit hours
Students will be given an insight into the foundations of psychology through an examination of the following topics: history and research in psychology, biological and genetic foundations of behaviour, sensation and perception, consciousness, learning, and memory. This course is a prerequisite for all students taking further courses in psychology. 3 lecture hours per week, Fall term (September – December)
Currently scheduled in Slot 12: Tuesdays from 11:40 AM – 12:30 PM AND Thursdays from 11:40 AM – 1:30 PM
