Field Forklift Mechanic / Service Technician

An exciting development opportunity is available for a Service Technician looking to take the next step in their career. We are seeking expressions of interest for a field‑based Service Technician role located in the Goldfields region - Kalgoorlie.

This is a unique opportunity to work autonomously in a regional environment while supporting a diverse customer base and a wide range of equipment.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to provide breakdown support, servicing, and planned maintenance across a broad range of equipment, including diesel and LPG forklifts with lift capacities from 1.8 to 16 tonnes, as well as exposure to battery electric forklifts.

You will be a pragmatic problem solver with a strong results focus, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

Performing onsite repairs across a wide range of material handling equipment
Responding to breakdowns within Kalgoorlie, Esperance, and surrounding areas
Undertaking diagnostic and fault‑finding work
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers within the territory
Collaborating with internal technical support teams to deliver effective maintenance outcomes
This role requires a high level of autonomy. You will need to be confident in your technical ability, decision‑making, and Crown product knowledge to be successful in this regional environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a forklift technician
Proven ability to work autonomously, particularly in remote or regional locations
Strong technical knowledge and diagnostic capability
Experience with large‑tonnage diesel equipment is highly desirable
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to high‑quality preventative maintenance
Strong alignment with HCA’s Safety Culture, where safety is the highest priority
Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build long‑term relationships
