About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer - Road Machinery to join our team in Scotland.
This role focuses on delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers, identifying revenue opportunities, and collaborating with colleagues and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Service and repair Dynapac Machinery, Volvo construction equipment, and miscellaneous equipment.
Utilize technical knowledge and computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical problems, providing guidance and advice to customers.
Work in a commercially focused manner, seeking additional service revenue opportunities and promoting aftermarket solutions.
Ensure software updates are installed as new versions are released.
Complete electronic reports and timesheets in real-time, detailing work undertaken.
Order necessary parts and return them in clean condition at job completion.
Able to work overtime and honour reasonable call-out requests.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
To succeed in this role, we require:
A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural / HGV mechanics, or a related discipline (i.e. NVQ 3/C&G).
Relevant experience in heavy construction plant maintenance, including proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electrics.
Advanced diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills, with a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and EATS.
Effective communication skills for working with colleagues, management, and customers.
A cost-conscious mindset to ensure maximum profitability.
High-level problem-solving skills and diagnostic abilities.
Proficiency in using computer systems and Outlook.
Attention to detail and conscientiousness in all aspects of the job.
Reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness.
The ability to understand technical literature and systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in welding and fabrication.
