What are we looking for?

Are you passionate about driving financial strategy and empowering business growth? We’re looking for a dynamic Finance Business Partner to join our National Business Performance Team in Sydney, NSW. Key to your success will be overseeing the financial management and being responsible for your dedicated client group as you work together to achieve financial and strategic goals for the division.

Reporting into the Head of Business Performance and working closely with Executive Team Leader (ELT) Members of our Personal Injury Law (PIL) practice groups, this role will have you responsible for the following:


Providing direct financial support to key internal stakeholders in your client group to achieve division goals and objectives:
Providing meaningful insight and quality analysis to maximize the performance of your client group, including promoting a controlled revenue growth and cost-conscious culture through detailed reporting;
Providing direct financial support to your client groups, in particular to the relevant ELT, and your reporting lines around fee and labour cost forecasting and working capital management of your client group including proactively acknowledging and communicating potentially adverse issues or impact;
Maintaining strong communication to ensure key internal stakeholders are aware of trends within your client group and implement steps to undertake to address any financial performance issues;
Assisting in the decision-making process around the allocation of resources;
Overseeing and coordinating the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process for your client group, including:
Participate in Strategic Planning
Revenue targeting
Bonus/KPI setting and calculations
Capital expenditure budgeting and monitoring
Performance improvements
Attendance at meetings with relevant key stakeholders
Building budgets and forecasts in line with your client groups’ strategies and prepare relevant reporting packs;
Building robust and sustainable relationships and bringing a collaborative approach to your working style;
Value adding and gaining trust and respect in your role;
Promoting continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of the management reporting process.
What will you bring?

Key to your success in this role, the following skills, capabilities and qualifications will apply:


Relevant tertiary qualifications in the area of Finance or Business Performance;
CPA or CA qualified;
Significant and demonstrated financial management experience within a professional services environment or similar;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability;
High level of attention to detail and accuracy;
Strong business and commercial acumen;
Significant experience in building relationships with various stakeholders within an organization.
