Carpentry Contractors Company, a Division of US LBM is seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to work on jobsites around the Twin Cities area.
About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing carpentry tasks, including constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structural woodwork and related materials. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Adhere to established safety rules and regulations by passing a safety test and following all safety procedures; maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and foremen, follow directions, and prioritize daily duties.
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layouts and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Measure, calculate, and mark cutting lines on materials accurately using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge; shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
• Square walls and install sheathing correctly.
• Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue; install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware using carpenter's hand and power tools.
• Select and supply crew, carpenters, and leads with materials.
• Use proper nailing procedures for all applications.
• Use hand, pneumatic, and other power tools to measure, cut, and install sheathing for walls and roofs, and all wall components.
• Finish, inspect, and ensure work complies with quality standards and expectations.
• Keep the jobsite clean and safe.
• Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program, certificate, or degree program at vocational school or community college (e.g. Certificate of Achievement in Carpentry Technology, an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry-Building Trades, or an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Less than 1 year of carpentry experience in the commercial and/or residential sectors.
Working Conditions
This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and long periods of standing. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders is also necessary.
Salary and Benefits
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour based on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
