About the Role
We're looking for talented freelance cinematographers who are as excited about Indian art and culture as they are about creating visually stunning content. If you're someone who can turn everyday artistry into compelling visual narratives and is ready to hit the road to document India's rich craft heritage — this gig’s for you.

Key Responsibilities
• Travel to artisan workshops and cultural heritage sites to shoot high-quality video content.
• Collaborate closely with artisans and our internal team to authentically capture the essence of each craft and story.
• Capture video in both vertical and horizontal formats to support various media platforms.
• Manage all aspects of on-site production — from setting up equipment and checking sound to managing lighting.
• Deliver raw video footage to Rooftop’s central team for editing and post-production.

What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience in cinematography, ideally in travel, art, or cultural contexts.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates your ability to tell compelling visual stories through video.
• Proficiency with modern video equipment, including cameras, audio gear, and lighting setups.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and travel frequently.
• A sharp eye for detail and a deep respect for traditional art forms and cultural storytelling.
• Great communication skills and a collaborative spirit when working with diverse individuals.
