We are a Country Hotel (Gastro Pub) located 47kms from Queenstown at “The head of the lake”
We have a bar, Separate “Bonnie Jean Restaurant” and beer garden, serving breakfast lunch and dinner..
The hotel has been renovated with hotel ensuites and a budget accommodation area as well.
We can sleep up to 38 guests in our hotel.
We also operate Glenorchy Info Centre and Glenorchy General Store and a bottle shop all on site as well.
There will be some shifts in there as well.
We are looking to employ an additional team member.
You will need Front of house experience in a bar or restaurant or hotel and eventually to obtain your LCQ and Duty Managers Certificate while working for us or already have one.
You will need to have a minimum of 3 years good experience in hotels or restaurants and are ready to step up to a Duty Managers position.
The role includes opening and closing the hotel, POS cash up etc. One or two days cleaning the hotel for an hour before we open.
There may also be two days of 1 or 2 hours housekeeping to help out other staff sometimes.
Stock taking sheets, rosters and supervision in the restaurant and bar and other duties associated with a “Duty Managers ” position.
Checking in customers for accommodation,Campervans etc.and organising group bookings and functions with the other staff.
Replying to emails for accommodation bookings as well and ensuring accuracy to detail.
Adhering to Liquor Licensing requirements is part of the job which comes with experience.
The position suits someone who has experience in Front of House in either bars or restaurants or hotels.
There is a mix of day and night shifts in the bar/restaurant.
We do not close late.
Start date is flexible but by 1st December or earlier by arrangement or when your work visa comes through if we are to sponsor you for a work Visa.
There is an opportunity to have time off over the Winter months and travel and return to your job. All staff take a minimum of 4 weeks holidays or longer between May and September.
We are also prepared to SPONSOR the right person for their work visa or residency.
You MUST be able to speak fluent English.
Top wages, free wifi in the hotel, staff meals, subsidised drinks, your own rental room in one of our renovated staff houses.
Staff lunch and dinner is provided which equates to 5.00 per hour benefit over a 40 hour week.
A minimum of 40 hours per week. Wages are from 30.00 per hour depending on experience.
This is a Full time permanent position.
It is not an option to travel and commute from Queenstown as during the Winter months the road can be Icy.
The cost of living in Glenorchy enables you to use it as a base to save and travel. 4 weeks holiday per annum plus public holidays, as we are closed most public holidays.
