This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys working autonomously, is excited about building scalable SaaS products, and is comfortable contributing across the full stack. While we support flexible remote work, we are looking for someone based in Melbourne who can attend occasional team meetings at our office - typically a few days per month.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs for internal and third-party integrations
Contribute to front-end development using Angular and JavaScript
Work closely with product and design teams to deliver clean, user-friendly solutions
Debug and improve application performance, stability, and code quality
Collaborate using Git, Jira, and CI/CD processes in a team-based environment
What You Bring
Strong experience in backend Java development with Spring/Spring Boot
Solid understanding of REST API design and implementation
Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB/DynamoDB)
Experience with Angular and JavaScript front-end development
Comfortable with modern code architecture and design patterns
Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools (Git, Jira)
Bonus Skills
AWS experience (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, AppSync, etc.)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Exposure to real estate, construction, or property tech systems
Why Join Runway?
Hybrid flexibility with a collaborative Melbourne office
Work on high-impact projects used across Australia and the USA
Join a global product team with peers across AU, US, India, and Europe
