About the opportunity 

The Functional Specialist provides expertise in the areas of consulting, implementation of ongoing projects, maintenance and support for relevant SAP solution functional areas to ensure an optimum product lifecycle of application services that support business processes. They provide application management including implementing new requirements, maintenance and support and continuous improvement. This role also delivers strategic functional guidance of the IT systems and processes that support most key processes within SA Power Networks. 

This Functional Specialist will have superior technical skills and will act as a Subject Matter Expert and Thought Leader in the Meter to Cash area. This stream covers our processes supporting network billing including market process management, meter reading, meter data management, network billing and device management.

Key role objectives

Provides input on new project impacts.

Implements and supports SAP and other relevant applications in line with SLAs and KPIs.

Suggests valuable improvement initiatives that provide value to the organisation.

Resolves incidents and requests in line with SLAs.

Contributes to continuous application support improvement.

Enhances user knowledge through communication and training.

Work & build relationships with the business stakeholders to understand their business processes and challenges. 

Essential Role Requirements

A degree qualification in an IT related discipline and/or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through experience.  

Extensive experience working with SAP software, particularly in a functional analyst role. Experience with other relevant modules is essential.  Relevant SAP certifications and other industry certifications are highly desirable.

Ability to work collaboratively with other functional specialists to deliver a quality offering to our business stakeholders.
