Canadian International Student Services (CISS) is currently looking for a dynamic and innovative ESL teacher to lead the Future Entrepreneurs English Course at our international summer camp. This course is designed to equip students with English language skills in a business and entrepreneurship context, enhancing their ability to communicate effectively in professional settings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons that focus on business communication, pitching ideas, marketing strategies, and leadership skills.
Assessing students' progress through presentations, written assignments, and group discussions.
Maintaining accurate class attendance records and providing student reports.
Fostering an immersive learning environment where students practice public speaking, negotiation, and persuasive writing.
Encouraging collaborative problem-solving and critical thinking to help students apply business concepts in real-world contexts.
Attend staff meetings, as required.
Other related duties as assigned.
Location:
Teachers will teach downtown at or near the University of Toronto 's Trinity College Campus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education and/or TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada (ie. CELTA)
Experience in teaching English with a focus on business or entrepreneurship is preferred
Strong presentation and leadership skills to guide students in business-related projects
Passion for mentoring young learners and fostering creativity
Police Reference Check required
Job Details:
CISS Curriculum outline and teaching resources are provided
Pre-Camp training is provided for all teaching staff
Maximum class size of 15-18 students
Lesson schedule will be as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 0+:00–13:15 Monday: 14:30–16:30 Wednesday: 14:30–17:30 Days off: Thursday and Sunday. This totals 25 teaching hours per week. The program runs from July 7 to July 25, with teacher training scheduled for late June.
Teacher receive an additional 2 hours pay each week (over regular teaching hours) to compensate for any meetings or reports that need to be done
Pay is $28 per hour
