About Us
We're an independent gaming studio that's been operating live games for over 15 years. Our teams are small, nimble, and player-obsessed. We move fast, learn continuously, and are always looking for ways to improve our games and how we operate them.
We're growing our LiveOps team and are looking for a Data Engineer/Analyst who can help us scale our LiveOps systems, reporting, and player insights to the next level.
About the Role
You'll work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics and product, building and maintaining the pipelines that power our LiveOps systems, reporting, and experiments.
You'll be hands-on with our data, solving problems, spotting trends, and helping the team make smarter, faster decisions to drive player engagement.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain data pipelines that capture key player behaviours across our live games
Develop and automate Python scripts for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
Work with AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena) to structure, query, and manage game data
Migrating Scripts from R to Python
Data Enablement and Orchestration
Optimize existing scripts to run faster and reduce operational costs
Collaborate with Product Managers, LiveOps, and Analysts to design new event tracking and reporting systems
Deliver actionable dashboards and deep-dive reports that support LiveOps campaigns and ongoing content updates
Monitor data health, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and continuously improve reliability and performance
Identify new data opportunities to better measure user acquisition, engagement, monetization, and player retention
Continuously improve, maintain, and develop our analytics tools for our games
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
4+ years practical data engineering and/or analysis experience, preferably in F2P Gaming
Strong experience writing and managing Python scripts and packages like pandas, numpy
Familiarity with Python frameworks like Django, TurboGears
Experience with Data orchestration tools like Prefect, Airflow, and dbt
Solid SQL skills (you can comfortably pull and wrangle large datasets)
Experience with AWS data tools (Example: S3, Athena, Glue)
Familiarity with data modelling and best practices
Experience working with R Scripts
Experience working with third-party APIs (MMP, Facebook, Google Play, etc)
A passion for games and improving the player experience through better data and insights
Ability to show resourcefulness and ownership of our games reporting and analysis systems.

Bonus Points
Experience working in mobile or social gaming
Hands-on experience supporting live service products (games, apps, or web platforms)
Strong understanding of player lifecycle metrics (DAU, Retention, ARPU, etc.) and LiveOps KPIs
Experience and success leveraging AI to boost productivity and insights in a data role
Experience with visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Knowledge of event design and telemetry best practices in games
Experience developing or using R Shiny apps
Strong understanding of KPIs and reporting for live mobile games

Salary:
$100,000
The listed pay range reflects the potential earnings for this role. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and alignment with company needs, typically falling toward the midpoint for most candidates
