General Labourer

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Labourer. This role is essential in supporting our operations. The role of general labour on a turkey farm is to help in all facets of the farms operation and to ensure its ongoing success and compliance with regulatory bodies. To ensure the health and welfare of all livestock on the farm by maintaining the sanitation, vaccination, lighting, and feeding programs as directed as well as the regular maintenance of all equipment and machinery, the safe operation of all equipment and machinery and to maintain the surrounding property. There is opportunity for advancement.

The Krahn family started poultry farming in Abbotsford in 1+51 selling eggs. Over the years, the farm expanded to raise turkeys and broilers. In 1++6, Paragon Feeds Corp. was established. Paragon Farms and Paragon Feeds Corp. continues to be a family operated farm spanning 3 generations. The focus continues to be on providing the highest quality eggs, poultry and feed. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Maintain the health and well being of the flock
Maintain all equipment and machinery
Continue Biosecurity, OFFSAP Program
Maintain production/Cleaning records
Interior and exterior cleanliness
Assistance in flock placements and shipouts
Vaccination/medication programs
Schedule feed deliveries
Farm inventory
Weekend chores by rotation
Off site work during slow periods
Generator tests (monthly)
Water tests Annually
Assistance in Yearly Audit

Qualifications

Previous experience working on a Turkey farm but not required
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
