General Ledger – Accounting Specialist The General Ledger Accounting Specialist is a member of a high performing and mixed rank team led by the UKI Controlling Finance Lead. In summary, General Ledger Accounting Specialist sits within the UKI Controlling team which helps the business create success by managing risk, mitigating fraud, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Firm policy, driving quality, consistency, and efficiency across the accounting processes. It does this through: • Providing transactional processing expertise, operational support, advice and insights across several areas including, vendor payables, staff expenses compliance, AMEX administration, accounts receivable and VAT controlling. • Implementing and monitoring appropriate controls • Partnering with offshore teams and holding them accountable for high levels of service delivery. The opportunity The General Ledger Accounting Specialist plays a key role in the effective management of the general ledger, identifying and resolving errors that may otherwise result in under/over statement of financial records, thereby allowing the business to support accurate financial reporting to ensure an up to date understanding of the firm’s financial health. Your Key Responsibilities • Management of high volume of data to create a proper database of Mobility expenses for people of assignments with the UK region. • Analysis of Mobility related expenses to enable accurate allocation to respective functions and cost centres. • Coordination with relevant finance teams for processing of journals and necessary adjustments to the P&L. • Producing necessary financial reports to enable trend analysis and business decisions. • Owning the process and operating as a subject matter expert to identify anomalies and propose operational efficiencies in building a streamlined process. • Monthly meetings with relevant Heads of Finance to enable the accurate reflection of transactions in the SL/ functional P&L accounts. Skills And Attributes For Success • Experience in managing high volume of data in Excel and other necessary platforms. • The ability to prioritise workload • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team or on their own initiative • Good eye for detail • Eagerness to learn quickly, be proactive and share knowledge • Must be numerate and literate • Great interpersonal and communication skills • Self-discipline • Good Team working skills To qualify for the role, you must have: • Minimum three years’ Experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment • AAT Foundation Level • Knowledge of Word and Excel • Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage • Used to working in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic • Great interpersonal and communication skills • Desire to thrive in and adapt to a fast changing and high activity environment What We Look For A bright, enthusiastic individual looking to start their career within an established finance department.
