We’re Hiring: General Manager – SMOOTH Property Management
Location: Toronto (Hybrid – Remote Flex + On-Site Oversight)
Compensation: $85,000–$120,000 OTE (Base + Performance Bonuses)

We’re looking for a General Manager (GM) who can take full operational leadership of the company, helping us grow and scale both our short-term furnished rentals and long-term residential portfolio. This is an opportunity to lead a fast-moving property management business with national reach, a strong brand, and exciting verticals including film/TV housing, executive relocations, and full-service landlord solutions.
Your Role
As General Manager, you'll oversee all operational departments, lead new initiatives, and ensure that every property, tenant, and owner experiences the "SMOOTH" standard — clear communication, quick action, and five-star service.
Your Core Responsibilities
Company Leadership & Operations
Manage day-to-day operations across leasing, maintenance, finance, and compliance
Supervise team leads, third-party vendors, and customer-facing staff Track KPIs across owner satisfaction, service response, rent collection, and vacancy timelines
Find across Canada different property management companies to purchase
Implement systems and SOPs to support national scalability
Team Management & Culture
Recruit, train, and lead a growing team of account managers, leasing agents, and administrators
Promote a high-performance culture with hospitality-level client service Base Salary: $50,000 + 1% management fee/bonus

Performance Bonus Structure: Target earnings of $75,000–$110,000+ based on portfolio growth and success
Conduct regular team check-ins, reviews, and process audits
Portfolio & Service Oversight
Oversee all property types: furnished rentals (Airbnb/short-term), executive suites, and long-term leases
Ensure all listings are marketed, filled, and managed efficiently
Review maintenance timelines, owner reporting, tenant escalations, and turnover processes
Owner, Tenant & Vendor Relations
Act as the main liaison between the company and its owner clients
Resolve escalated tenant or vendor issues with professionalism
Drive retention, upselling, and satisfaction across your owner base
Growth Strategy & Reporting
Collaborate with ownership to expand into new Canadian markets
Provide financial reports and operational insight to guide decision-making
Lead new initiatives including Smooth Plus service tiers, cost recovery programs, and tech integrations
Ideal Candidate Profile
5+ years experience in residential or multi-asset property management
Experience managing teams and systems in a growing company
Background in both short-term/furnished and long-term/residential rentals
Operationally strong and comfortable with property software (Yardi Breeze Premier, Buildium, etc.)
Leadership mindset with a problem-solver attitude
Knowledge of Canadian tenancy laws and real estate compliance (multi-province experience is a plus)
Compensation & Growth
Base Salary: $50,000–$65,000
Performance Bonus: Tied to portfolio retention, growth, and service KPIs
Target Earnings: $75,000–$110,000+
