We have an exciting new opportunity for a Governance Advisor to join ASB's high performing, supportive, and collegial in-house Corporate & Governance Legal Services team!

Reporting to the Head of Corporate & Governance, you will support the delivery of company secretarial services and corporate governance advice to the ASB Group. This role provides a fantastic springboard to a corporate governance career in one of NZ's best known and respected organisations.

Te Tūranga | The role:

You will be responsible for various duties related to governance activities across ASB, orchestrating multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal:

Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions.
Working effectively with senior management and critical stakeholders.
Providing governance advice in relation to corporate governance obligations.
Maintaining the ASB General Power of Attorney Register.
Assisting with the maintenance of Governance websites.
Managing the shared team email inbox and shared team Outlook calendars.
Compiling reports and data in a professional and corporate manner, including presentations, board and executive reports and statistics.
Delivering seamless ASB and CBA NZ subsidiary board meetings to the highest standards of corporate governance.

Qualified lawyer or Chartered Company Secretary (or training to become).
Proven experience in administration and coordination in a busy role.
PC Literacy, proven skills in the use of standard MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Able to deal with sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
Exceptional interpersonal skills particularly an ability to relate to others at all levels.
Initiative and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy, spelling and grammar.
Proactivity and excellence in delivery of support services.
