This position is classified as a PACS Band 6 ($83,004 – 88,++6) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

What’s On Offer
A rare and rewarding opportunity exists for a highly capable individual to join our busy Governance and Legal department at the City of Kwinana. This is a pivotal position reporting to the Manager Governance and Legal and working alongside a superstar team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality legal and governance support across a range of areas relating to the City’s core business, with particular focus in supporting the areas of governance, risk, procurement and property related matters.

What You’ll Need
To make an impact as our new Governance and Legal Support Officer you will have…

Demonstrated experience working in a legal, government or regulatory environment.
Familiar with interpreting legislation with a good understanding of the legislative framework governing Local Governments in Western Australia.
Demonstrated ability to undertake research, problem solve complex issues with particular attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents such as leases and contracts.
Experience communicating appropriately with a wide range of stakeholders and producing well written documents and correspondence.
Ability to autonomously manage competing demands and meet strict timeframes in a busy environment.
Strong computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Qualification in law or working towards (desirable).
