Responsibilities
Monitor legislative and policy developments at the DC Council, State Board of Education, within the Executive branch, and at the Federal level
Assist with speechwriting, messaging, and storytelling
Build relationships with key legislative staff and community groups
Conduct research and draft policy briefs to support advocacy efforts
Support the External Affairs Department with proactive information collection and relationship building
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or education field
Two to three years of related work experience
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Knowledge of government relations and/or political experience
Ability to find and evaluate useful information related to education policies or related topics
