ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Mel Johnson School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 104 students located in the community of Wabowden which is a one-hour drive south of Thompson, Manitoba along Provincial Highway #6. This attractive community of approximately 700 residents is surrounded by scenic attractions such as Sasagiu Rapids and Pisew Falls and the area's natural beauty and clean lakes provide for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities. The community also offers services such as a grocery store, health centre and hotel.

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
Previous teaching experience
A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
Strong classroom management skills
Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
