Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher with a Christian faith background to guide grades 1-4 students and join our passionate teaching team. This role involves leading a mixed-age class of up to 12 students in a holistic, nature-connected, and deeply relational learning environment. The ideal candidate is grounded in faith, loves working with children, and brings creativity, organization, and warmth to their classroom. Our curriculum integrates academics with entrepreneurship, outdoor exploration, and project-based learning—designed to nurture the whole child: heart, mind, body, and spirit.
Responsibilities
Lead a multi-age class (Grades 1–4) in core subjects and integrated projects.
Deliver lesson plans that are hands-on, experiential, and rooted in a growth mindset. (using a curriculum that is given to the teacher)
Observe and respond to the developmental needs of individual students within a small group.
Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to ensure strong relationships and shared understanding.
Support outdoor learning and nature-based exploration as part of the daily rhythm.
Contribute to school events, celebrations, and the shared mission of The NEW School.
Maintain a calm, respectful, and purposeful classroom culture that reflects Christian values.
Skills
Certified (or eligible to be certified) as a ON elementary school teacher.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Joyful, grounded, and confident in your teaching and faith leadership.
Comfortable with mixed-age teaching and flexible in approach to learning needs.
Organized and attentive to details while remaining warm and relational.
Familiarity with nature-based, holistic, or project-based education is a plus.
Deep personal faith in Christ and desire to integrate it meaningfully into the classroom. Not religious instead relational.
Ability to collaborate with a small team and contribute to a peaceful, creative workplace.
Asset would be artistic skills and ability to integrated any of the arts into our program.
