ROLE of the POSITION
The major purpose of this position is to provide assistance to plan, and coordinate a comprehensive support program for the Office of Research/ Associate Dean for Research to assure the acquisition and management of grant and other funding, and the establishment of an infrastructure that supports the research and scholarly activities of the SOM faculty, residents, fellows and students. This position is to help enable the SOM to participate in the success of UNLV as a Top Tier research university.
The position reports to the Administrative & Grants Director of the Office of Research and the Associate Dean of Research for the School of Medicine. Responsibilities of the position include planning, coordinating, and monitoring all functions that support external and internal grants and Office of Research (OOR) program activities including providing information for the faculty, residents, fellows and students regarding private, state, federal government agency opportunities and Foundation research related opportunities. The ideal individual will be knowledgeable in the procedures and policies of UNLV, UNLV-SOM or similar entity, Office of Sponsored Programs, IRB, UNLV Foundation, National Institute of Health (NIH), Health and Research Services Administration (HRSA), the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) and other agencies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• This position requires 1-3 years in Grant Management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Knowledge of healthcare industry is a plus
OTHER EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
• Associates Degree

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
