Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance
Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements
Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions
Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues
Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization

What You Will Be Doing
This position will assist in applying for and managing the reporting for federally available funding for the Division of Forestry & Fire Protection. Grants will support critical life safety functions such as wildland fire suppression and hazardous fuels removal, as well as forest stewardship, forest health, and urban forestry. The Grants Administrator will interpret, explain, and apply grant-related laws, regulations, and policy guidance documents to ensure that DOF's grant programs comply with state and federal requirements.

The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection (DOF) provides the vital public safety function of wildland fire protection on over 150 million acres. The high-functioning administrative team you will join supports the “boots on the ground” that protect people, property, and resources in Alaska and nationwide.
Under its multifaceted functions, this position encounters diverse challenges and the opportunity to contribute to the success of the DOF mission. While this position is overtime ineligible, you are eligible for paid overtime during fire season.
