Ocean Freight Pricing Manager
London, Heathrow
Salary: Up to 55,000 DOE + Benefits / Package
As the Ocean Freight Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing pricing strategies for ocean freight services. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure our rates remain competitive while maintaining profitability. Your role will involve analysing market trends, negotiating with carriers, and providing accurate pricing quotations to customers. You will play a crucial part in driving the company's growth and customer satisfaction through effective cost management and strategic pricing.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement pricing strategies for ocean freight services to maximise profitability while remaining competitive.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with ocean carriers, shipping lines, and vendors to secure favourable pricing and space agreements.
• Monitor and analyse market trends, competitors' pricing, and industry developments to adjust rates as needed.
• Provide accurate and timely ocean freight quotations to customers, collaborating with sales and operations teams.
• Prepare detailed cost analyses, margin forecasts, and profitability reports.
• Build strong relationships with ocean carriers and stakeholders to ensure a high level of service and support.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company policies in all pricing activities.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Lead and mentor a team of pricing analysts
From You
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ocean freight pricing, procurement, or related roles within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• In-depth knowledge of ocean freight carriers, rates, and market dynamics.
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of securing favourable contracts with shipping lines.
• Analytical mind set with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed pricing decisions.
• Proficiency in using freight management systems and pricing tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
