Key Responsibilities
As Head of Data Science, you will play a key role in leveraging Superloop’s data ecosystem to drive impactful insights and solutions across the business. This is a strategic and hands-on role with a strong focus on leadership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:
Lead, grow and mentor an emerging team of data scientists, fostering a strong data-first culture across the organisation.
Define the technical direction and roadmap for data science, aligning with Superloop’s overall data and business objectives.
Drive the end-to-end development of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives across key business functions.
Architect and implement machine learning models in cloud environments, including churn prediction, recommendation systems and fraud detection.
Partner closely with engineering, product, operations, and executive leadership to embed data science into core business processes and customer experiences.
Build and own end-to-end data science projects: from hypothesis generation and data wrangling to model deployment and performance monitoring.
Advocate and implement best practices for experimentation, statistical modelling, and data governance.
Oversee data science infrastructure, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance environments.
Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovation into Superloop through emerging AI/ML techniques and tools.
Qualifications and Experience
4+ years of experience in data science or a closely related field, including experience working within a strategic capacity.
Background in economics, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline.
Experience building and deploying ML models in production cloud environments (preferably AWS: Redshift, SageMaker, Lambda, EMR).
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL with ability to work with large datasets, automate workflows, and build reproducible solutions.
Deep knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and data modelling.
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
Experience leading cross-functional collaboration and influencing senior stakeholders across tech and business teams.
