Overview
As an analyst on the US Custody Team you will be responsible for trade settlement and payment transactions for various clients at Deutsche Bank. You will have the opportunity to work closely with internal front office partners as well as other business units to help bring projects forward. You will interact with various security depositories to help support access to US security transactions for global clients.

What You’ll Do
• Accountable for managing the end-to-end clearing and settlement process
• Ensure smooth and timely market settlement of securities and cash transfers between the Bcank and its counterparty via Swift messages and wire payments
• Interact with different internal and external stakeholders (front office, clients, brokers, nostro agents, exchanges and clearing houses) involved in the clearing and settlement process chain, according to the market standards
• Responsible for settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (break management, billing)
Skills You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
• Detail oriented
• Basic Swift and US settlement market knowledge (DTCC and Fed)
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work well within a team and independent projects as needed

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

About This Position
We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced finance professional to provide leadership and oversight to the Investments team within the Executive Secretariat of the Staff Retirement Plans department (SRP). SRP is responsible for overseeing the payment of pension benefits, managing the investment of assets, carrying out the day-to-day administration of the Plans, and performing other functions contemplated in the Plan’s regulations and/or delegated by the Managing or Pension Committees. SRP is clustered into three teams: investments, pension administration, and front office and analytics. Reporting directly to the SRP Executive Secretary, you will be part of the SRP management team.
The Investment team oversees five Funds totaling over USD 8 billion in assets: three defined benefit pension funds (Staff, Local and Complementary Staff), one postretirement benefits and a retiree life insurance fund. The investments are mainly managed using external investment managers diversified across 14 asset classes, such as U.S. Equities, Non-U.S. Equities, Emerging Market Equities, Public and Private Real Estate, Public and Private Infrastructure, and Core fixed Income among others. In addition to asset class diversification, the SRP investment team is responsible for providing inputs to the Bank’s risk management and financial accounting processes, reporting to governing committees and the Boards of Directors, monitoring external investment managers, analyzing and assessing asset classes and economic scenarios, and manage portfolios of U.S. TIPS. The Head of Investments is responsible for setting the investment style and strategy, managing the investment team, supporting the Executive Secretary of the Retirement Plans, and representing the investment component of the retirement Plans within the IDB Group.
What You’ll Do
• Oversee investment analysis and management activities to monitor external managers’ performance, compliance with approved investment guidelines, strategies and organization on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Asset-Liability Studies and Implementation Activities: Provide support to the team and oversight committees (Investment, Pension and other) in current and future asset-liability analyses, implementation, tactics and legal documents.
• Asset Class/Manager Research Activities: Lead the research of new asset classes (including but not limited to hedge funds, private equity, private infrastructure) and various derivatives strategies as directed by the Investment and Pension Committees, Executive Secretary and/or market conditions. Also lead research into the selection of new investment managers, and assessment of managers’ quality, including consideration of termination upon certain conditions.
• Investment Operations: Review and approve transactions, financial statements, performance, tax reclaims. Provide oversight to year-end external auditor, quarterly fee invoices, reconciled monthly manager/Custodian reports, compliance reports, daily operations (trading and performance) and monthly rebalancing activities.
• Foster and be a role model for an inclusive and equitable work environment, promoting employee engagement.
What You’ll Need
• Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Finance, Business Mathematics, Statistics, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. CFA or CAIA charter is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, capital markets/structured finance products gained at an Investment Bank, Commercial Bank or International Financial Institution. Previous experience managing pension investment portfolio is a plus.
• Language: You are proficient (written and oral) in English. Knowledge of another Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is preferred.
