Head of Operations for Defence Services, Australia
Join our growing Defence Services organization as Program Manager and head the delivery of high-quality services to our C4I customers, oversee multiple projects and drive growth. Our new Program Manager for the APAC Constellation service team in Australia will be part of our expanding Defence Services organization and a key member of the management team in the APAC Constellation which is responsible of executing delivery projects in Australia and our Asian markets. The role is based in Canberra and will report directly to the Vice President of Defence Services in Denmark.
One-of-a-kind leadership role with overall responsibility for project delivery and implementation
As Program Manager for our APAC Constellation services team, you will head project operations and oversee multiple projects simultaneously. The projects involve deploying our SitaWare and Iris product suites into our customers organisation, offering training services, technical support for military exercises, providing guidance for optimal product use and conducting quality assurance around our solutions.
You will participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes, support the preparation of business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, financial terms/conditions of contract and work with internal global stakeholder aligning and reporting on Defence operations and broader strategic initiatives. You will also act as customer contact for program activities, co-leading program review meetings with customer to discuss cost, schedule and technical performance.
While having the overall responsibility for the delivery and implementation of our Defence product suites, you will also:
ensure delivery on agreed scope, schedule and quality, while maintaining and developing the long-term customer relationship
drive business development, including creating and scoping solutions, estimating and writing proposals
have people and line management responsibility, including recruitment, development and retention
together with our business development, expand and extend our engagement on new and mature markets
You can expect approx. 30 days of travel a year, domestic as well as international.
Leadership, customer-centric mindset, and stakeholder management
To succeed in this role, you have solid experience with delivery of complex software projects. You have experience from a customer-facing role and have successfully managed and navigated in complex stakeholder landscapes and business environments, ideally in a global context.
You have a strong commitment to understand and meet customer needs, along with a customer-focused approach and a proven ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships.
You have experience in leading other leaders and you will have full responsibility for APAC Constellation service team in Australia and be the line manager for other managers and senior engineers - so leading, coaching, motivating and developing your team comes natural to you.
As a leader you are known for prioritizing results, demonstrating clear and decisive leadership and you excel at building and developing your team; foster collaboration among colleagues, and drive organizational growth.
What we are also expecting:
Extensive background in project management, with a proven ability to deliver projects on scope, within quality standards, and within budget constraints.
Skilled in managing stakeholders as well as strong expertise in planning and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in any numerate/scientific discipline.
5+ years work experience in a similar role in IT industry.
Equivalent qualifications to PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA Level B/C.
Excellent English skills, both oral and written.
Experience with the Defence industry is a plus.
