Role Overview:
We are seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of People and Culture. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and drive our people and culture initiatives, ensuring they are deeply embedded in every facet of our company’s operations.
As the Head of People and Culture, you will be at the forefront of creating a supportive, inclusive, and thriving work environment. Your mission will be to build comprehensive strategies that prioritise employee wellbeing, development, and engagement while aligning with our core values and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Development and Execution: Craft and implement a robust people and culture strategy that encompasses employee wellbeing, engagement, and organisational culture, and aligns with business goals.
• Compliance and Policy Management: Develop, maintain, and update the employee handbook, policies, procedures and contracts to ensure compliance with UK employment law.
• Culture and Values: Shape the organisational culture respecting core values whilst highlighting diversity, equity, inclusion, employee engagement and satisfaction
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and attain top talent.
• Employee Experience and Engagement: Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture and promoting staff retention.
• Learning and Development: Oversee all learning and development programs to enhance employee skills, career growth, leadership development and retention, extending to talent management and succession planning.
• HR and Payroll Administration: Oversee HR administration, including contracts, job descriptions, and maintaining accurate employee records. Administer payroll on a monthly basis.
• Supporting Managers in Staff Management: Provide guidance and support to managers on staff management, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Employee Wellbeing: Design and execute comprehensive wellbeing initiatives aligned with the company's culture and goals.
• Collaboration with Parent Company: Liaise with the parent company’s Head of People and Culture to align and implement group-level initiatives and best practices.
About you:
· Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally within a small or medium-sized business.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law and HR compliance Strong leadership and project management skills.
· Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and driving cultural initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
· Experience managing an HR system (Employment Hero ideal)
· Proficiency in HR metrics and analytics, with the ability to present insights to senior stakeholders.
• CIPD qualification of equivalent experience (level 5 or above preferred)
