Position Title: Production Head
Location: Bauer Equipment India Pvt Ltd, Taloja
Reports To: Operations Manager or Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Head will oversee and manage all production activities, ensuring that manufacturing processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards and client specifications. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, welding technology, quality control, and the interpretation and application of technical drawings. The ideal candidate will lead the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management
Ø Plan, coordinate, and control all production processes to ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Ø Monitor and optimize production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and maximize efficiency.
Ø Oversee the implementation of production plans, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and utilized.
2. Technical Expertise
Ø Possess a strong understanding of technical product drawings.
Ø Demonstrate extensive knowledge of welding processes and techniques.
Ø Interpret and apply technical drawings and specifications to guide the production process.
Ø Ensure that job work is executed in strict accordance with technical drawings and client requirements.
Ø Utilize advanced welding technology and techniques to improve product quality and production efficiency.
Ø Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards.
3. Quality Control
Ø Develop and enforce rigorous quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
Ø Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any quality issues.
Ø Collaborate with the quality assurance team to integrate quality management systems into the production workflow.
4. Team Leadership
Ø Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ø Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs for team members.
Ø Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Process Improvement
Ø Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Ø Stay abreast of technological advancements and integrate new technologies to improve production capabilities.
6. Collaboration and Communication
Ø Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and other departments to ensure seamless production operations.
Ø Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and address any concerns.
7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
Ø Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
Ø Promote a safe working environment and champion initiatives for injury prevention and waste reduction.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ø Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in production management or welding technology are a plus.
Ø Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in welding and quality control.
Ø Technical Skills:
Ø Strong understanding of production planning, quality management, and lean manufacturing principles.
Ø Proven ability to manage and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Ø Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
