Job Description

Location: Hybrid, London office presence required

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead proposition strategy at Gousto. You will be responsible for “thinking big” to transform our overall customer experience, owning our proposition pipeline, generating and assessing opportunities for customer and commercial value as well as implementation and operational feasibility to maximise the impact we have.

You will challenge the status quo and take a “can if” approach to complex problems to remove roadblocks, partnering with multiple teams including insights, commercial finance, data analytics, marketing, operations, and tech to deliver best in class launches that delight our customers and improve NLTV.

This is a senior role at Gousto, you will also co-lead our annual planning process, interfacing regularly with our management team, leadership team and CEO to build a product customers love.

Core Responsibilities
• #1 Lead our product innovation pipeline process. You will partner with insights and analytics to discover and define unmet consumer needs. You’ll then work closely with our commercial finance team to build models and business cases to support your proposals. You will develop, align and champion a compelling innovation pipeline that grows customer love, measured by NPS and NLTV. Generating buy-in and excitement across Gousto at all levels
• #2 Co-lead strategic planning. You will work closely with our Customer team, Director of Digital Product, Head of Delivery and others across Gousto to turn our strategic plans into tribe roadmaps that blend top down strategic direction, with bottom up innovation and optimisation. Ensuring plans focus on both customer and commercial impact
• #3 Represent customers and commercials through execution. You will represent both the customer and the original business case as products are taken from idea to reality. In close collaboration with many functions across Gousto you will ensure that key initiatives are executed with excellence, staying true to their original intent and purpose
• #4 Ensure we maximise value through post-launch activities. You will work closely with marketing, insights, analytics, finance, and product to plan launches that maximise success and then deeply understand customer responses to ensure we take products from MVP to something that maximises long term value

Who You Are
• Proven track record of leading innovation, ideally within a B2C physical product environment
• Experience working in a highly cross functional operating model with blended teams spanning both technical disciplines and non-tech functions, working at pace
• Worked with multiple innovation models (e.g Design thinking, stage-gate, incubators, start-ups, etc)
• Mastery in the identification and usage of consumer insights to create winning NPD
• Outstanding analytical and commercial modelling skills: time spent within a tier one strategy consulting firm and/or investment banking strongly preferred
• Sophisticated critical thinking and problem-solving
• Strong knowledge of lean working practices, prioritisation techniques and frameworks
• A broad and adaptable leadership toolbox, from coaching to more directive styles
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• A customer-centric mindset - you will relentlessly represent the customer throughout the entire product development lifecycle; always influencing outcomes to not drift from our customer centric vision
• Highly collaborative and influential - you will build strong, trust based relationships and work effectively across all levels and functions of the organisation. You’re able to understand and address concerns whilst maintaining a strong vision and direction
