We are searching for a dynamic candidate who can provide support to our growing function and provide critical advice to our operational departments. The purpose of this role is to provide a real boost to the H&S systems and performance within our organisation, and continually look for areas of improvement to stay ahead of the trends. Oceania Dairy is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder formula and UHT milk. This site has strong domestic and international partnerships due to its ownership by the Yili Group. In the role of Health & Safety Advisor you will be responsible for (not limited to):

Provide support to operations by giving technical guidance on a range of H&S subjects.
Support our critical risk program and teams to ensure this program is effective and sustained over time.
Leading or assisting with the delivery of key H&S improvement projects to support our H&S strategy.
Drive our contractor management processes for optimal function.
Review our H&S data to look for trends and opportunities, provide reporting that shows what is really happening with a focus on lead indicators.

The successful applicant will have:

Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, and WorkSafe policies and procedures.
Certificates in Health and Safety legislative fields.
Have 3 - 5 years' experience in workplace Health and Safety or related fields.
Competent computer skills and working knowledge of data entry and reporting.
Knowledge of permit systems and high-risk activity management preferred.
Excellent communication skills, and people skills.
