If you do then the Surgical Directorate is currently looking for Health Care Support Worker for an exciting role on Ward B2

Our focus is on providing safe and exceptionally skilled surgical care to our patients. We focus heavily on training, education, staff support and development; alongside collaborative working with our Consultants and other professionals. We consider ourselves a supportive team, who welcome learners and those wishing to grow their skills and knowledge.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team assisting with patient care and
other departmental-related duties as directed by a Registered Nurse to ensure kind, safe, and compassionate care for patients.

Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.

The roles and responsibilities of a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) include (but not limited to):

Making sure patients are comfortable

Helping patients move around

Washing and dressing patients

Taking basic observations and updating patient records

Keeping departments tidy and ensuring equipment is clean

Serving meals and helping patients eat

Collecting, storing, and labelling biological specimens

Keeping hospital supplies properly stocked and organized

Working closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists in order to provide patients with exceptional care

Support workers may also provide physical and emotional support, encourage and support the development of personal skills, and help with household tasks
