Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is operating safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and perform necessary repairs.
Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery, including cranes and other heavy equipment.
Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to repair or replace defective parts.
Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment problems.
Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing and repairs.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
Skills
Proficient in the operation of heavy equipment, including cranes.
Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
Experience with hand tools and welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Knowledge of HVAC systems as they relate to heavy equipment operation.
Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
