Job Overview
Our client seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Technician for their Stevenage Bakery. This full-time role involves the inspection, service, and repair of vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment per agreed schedules and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Always Demonstrate the ‘Safety First’ approach, including proactive hazard reporting.
• Show flexibility when transitioning between tasks within the VMU operation.
• Contribute to site standards and internal/external audits, maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with the VMU Management team to ensure fleet standards are met.
• Perform repairs to meet or exceed VOSA minimum standards.
• Follow safety, environmental, and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability according to delivery schedules.
• Work efficiently to achieve shift KPIs.
• Highlight any non-compliance issues to the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM.
• Utilize resources effectively to complete tasks.
• Maintain vehicles and other fleet assets according to Company and VOSA standards.
• Perform other VMU duties as required.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience as a HGV/LGV/PSV technician.
• Level 3 City & Guilds qualification in LGV Vehicle Crafts or relevant equivalent.
• Commitment to personal development and a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
• Experience in LGV fleet maintenance operations.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• LGV Licence C+E (desirable but not essential).
