Frontier Collegiate is a unique, well-equipped high school with dormitories located in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba. Frontier Collegiate offers a full range of Grade + to Grade 12 course offerings for approximately 300 students. Cranberry Portage is a scenic “cottage country” community of about 1,000 people located 50 km south of Flin Flon. Community services include a gas station, health centre with ambulance service, community recreation centre and arena and regular air service (Flin Flon & The Pas).
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
A sound knowledge of provincial High School curricula
Previous High School teaching experience
A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum
Strong classroom management skills
Experience working with students with unique needs
A commitment to differentiated instruction
A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices
A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn
Self-motivated
