HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Supervisor works with the Housekeeping Manager in planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department in accordance with company standards and procedures along with assuring the highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times. Assists with staffing, scheduling, training and developing staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with managing the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all guest rooms, offices, washrooms, suites, and all public spaces etc.
Planning, organizing and leading team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction.
Daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, including the day, event and post-events.
Work with Housekeeping Manager to purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
Conduct inspections of all guest rooms, along with Housekeeping Manager.
Be the focal for scheduling and training all new housekeeping staff members.
Assist the Housekeeping Manager to maintain the housekeeping budget, providing billing summaries and expenses
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
Knowledge of Health and Safety standards within Housekeeping department.
Provides input on and maintains the department work schedule
Works with the Housekeeping Manager and the Maintenance department to ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment; make arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
All other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required
3 years experience working in Housekeeping
1 – 3 years experience in Hospitality
1 - 2 years experience in supervisory role
Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis
Flexible schedule and reliable
Must be a fast pace worker and work well with others
Multi-tasking skills
Familiar with WHMIS, Health and Safety, and emergency protocols
Physical mobility and stamina are required
Ability to follow instructions and be detail-oriented
Professional and friendly with all guests. Ability to achieve guest satisfaction
Prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, laundry or related jobs an asset
