About the opportunity
Abergeldie is looking for a talented and proactive HR Advisor to join our growing team in Tullamarine on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the General Manager People and Culture, you will play a key role in supporting our stakeholders, providing comprehensive HR services to ensure effective HR practices that align with our company’s strategic goals.
This opportunity has arisen due to significant growth and our recent success in securing several large 10 year + framework contracts, including partnerships with South East Water on the Integrated Capital Works Planning and Delivery program and the Yarra Valley Water’s Delivery Reliability Program.
With the recent acquisition and integration of two businesses, this role will be instrumental in supporting the business through this period of transition, ensuring a smooth and cohesive integration.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with managers to develop and implement HR solutions that meet business needs and adhere to relevant legislation and company policies.
Assist manages in managing performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports and metrics.
Support HR projects and initiatives.
This is a hands-on, office-based role based in our Tullamarine office, with regular visits to various sites as required. Due to the nature of the work and the importance of partnering closely with our team and stakeholders, this role requires presence on-site, and remote work flexibility is limited.
What you’ll bring to the team:
A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or related experience.
Experience in a HR Advisor role, preferably within the construction or infrastructure industry.
Strong understanding of Australian employment law and best practices.
Proven experience in managing employee relations and performance management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee issues with discretion and sound judgment.
A proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Experience in supporting teams through periods of change, particularly in the context of business acquisitions and integrations.
